The WhatsApp 24-hour window: what it is and how it works
Understand the WhatsApp API 24-hour rule and when to use Meta-approved message templates.
The rule
On the official API you can reply freely for up to 24 hours after the customer’s last message. After that, you can only write using a Meta-approved template.
Message templates
Templates are pre-approved texts (welcome, reminders, notices). Approval usually takes from minutes up to 2 days.
